Erectile dysfunctions is more common with increasing age and has many possible causes from being overweight, having diabetes or being a smoker to stress, depression or performance anxiety.
What are the causes and symptoms of ED?
Symptoms include
being able to get an erection sometimes, but not every time you want to have sex
being able to get an erection, but not having it last long enough for sex
being unable to get an erection at any time
Erectile dysfunctions happen when blood vessels get blocked, and because the vessels are thin - blockages happen easily. Some causes to increase these blockages are smoking, high cholestrol and lack of exercise. ED can also occur from emotional or psychological causes; ie anxiety, depression, trauma. It can also be a side effect of being on certain medication
How can I manage erectile dysfunction?
Medication - The good news is that sildenafil also known as Silvasta, Viagra, Avigra, Vedafil be purchased without a prescription at your local Pharmacy following a discreet, confidential consultation with a trained pharmacist to determine eligibility for supply. Consultation with the pharmacist will take about 20 minutes the first time and will include a short health check including taking your blood pressure. Repeat supplies will only take a few minutes to supply, provided your health hasn’t changed since.
Sildenafil isn’t suitable for all men. Some men should not take erectile dysfunction (ED) medicines. For example, men on certain medications or men who have had a recent heart attack or stroke. Your Pharmacist or Doctor will need to ask you some general health questions to ensure that sildenafil is appropriate for you.
Weight Management- Erectile dysfunction (ED) is more common in people who are overweight, obese or have a waist measurement higher than 92cm (37 inches). Losing weight and/or reducing your waist size has been found helpful to reduce ED.
Stop Smoking - Smoking has been linked to an increased risk of developing erectile dysfunction (ED). Stopping smoking may improve the symptoms of ED and has many other health benefits too.
